With the use of intuitive, hands-on and applied learning approach, we create customized LEGO Robotics and SCRATCH Coding programmes to suit the needs of our learners’ experience and objectives. Learners develop computational thinking and problem solving skills through the applications of science, technology, engineering and math.

Description

LEGO Robotics Workshop

Participants will be introduced to the world of Robotics using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0. With guided instructions, motors, sensors and visual block-based programming, participants will get to develop their problem solving and computational skills through building, coding and bringing robots to life. The beginning of the session will introduce the subject topic to allow participants to connect and build on their knowledge. This is followed by a Lego building activity with model construction to help develop cognitive and motor skills. After build is completed, participants will be introduced to basic coding to apply logic and computational thinking skills using visual programming. Participants will then run the program to test. Time will be provided to encourage experimentation and exploration to gain new knowledge. Quizzes and challenges will be included for participants to apply what they have learned by designing solutions through modifications of build or debugging program algorithms.

Target audience: 7 to 12 yrs old. Course is suitable for beginners with no prior experience.
Class size: 6 to 10 pax
Duration: 2 hours

Please note that workshop fee is per pax. All provided kit and devices are for in-class use only and cannot be taken home.

SCRATCH Coding Workshop

SCRATCH is designed for learner who is new to the world of coding. It teaches the fundamentals of programming and enables student to apply what they learned to create animated stories, multimedia games and bring ideas to live. At the beginning of session, participants will be introduced to command blocks. This is followed by guided coding to create the program script for the assigned projects. Participants will learn how to use programming tools to make interactive animations and games. Time will be provided to encourage experimentation and exploration to gain new knowledge. Quizzes will be included for participants to practice and apply logic and computational thinking skills.

Target audience: 8 to 16 yrs old. Course is suitable for beginners with no prior experience.
Class size: 6 to 10 pax
Duration: 2 hours

Please note that workshop fee is per pax. Participant is required to bring own mouse controller and laptop preloaded with Scratch 3.0.
