Experience meditation, de-mystified and made accessible for everyday practice. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and this workshop gives you that good, critical first step on your meditation journey.

Know the bare facts and popular misconceptions of what meditation is β€” both the simplest and noblest journey a human can undertake. With the foundational knowledge gleaned from this workshop, you can begin practising meditation, explore other meditation courses, and do further research with a more discerning mind.

This workshop can function as a standalone. Follow-up workshops can also be designed and held with new content in meditation techniques.

Having trained alongside various masters of meditation from different traditions, Johny Tay has developed an original approach that draws mainly from the Dzogchen, Zazen, and Vipassana lineages. Johny deconstructs the art and shares its most crucial fundamentals in this workshop. This result is a blended method which is grounded yet accessible to everyone.

Everyday Zen Studios is the wellness practice of Johny Tay, Singaporean practitioner of Qigong, Taiji, Meditation, and Zen. His source of knowledge is drawn from diverse traditions in both East and West.

For more than 10 years Johny received traditional training in Singapore and Asia. When he subsequently had the chance to reside in Toronto, Canada for 5 years, he taught in North America in partnership with reputable studios and organizations, such as Moksha Yoga and Emmanuel College at the University of Toronto.

As a practitioner and teacher, Johny strives to make his approach down-to-earth, demystified, and highly accessible to the everyday person.

In his β€œother” life, Johny holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and consults for innovation and tech ventures. He is also a published Zen cartoonist and regular columnist for leading spiritual magazines globally.
