A conversation with Ron Tan, A Deaf Musician

As a child, Ron Tan discovered a love of music and went on to develop his passion. When he was learning to play piano by himself, many challenges came his way and blocked his path.
Being having 80% hearing loss, it was an uphill battle for him to produce composition pieces as he could not hear certain musical notes well even with hearing aids. In spite of this, he defied the odds and performed his first composition to a standing ovation. And he went on to become a successful musician.
Guided by his love for music and a heart to serve others who experience similar difficulties, Ron co-founded Inclusive Arts Movement (IAM) to help market their musical talents.
